Home Cinema But Better, or HCBB, is the advisory arm of Cinema Lusso. It gives you the same technical judgement we apply to a full commission, delivered as a focused review of the room you already have or the room you are about to build.
What HCBB Is
A cinema health check,
not a sales visit
A cinema health check is an independent technical assessment of a private cinema, carried out by the Cinema Lusso design and engineering team. We look at what the room is actually doing, explain why it behaves that way, and set out what would change if you addressed each issue.
The assessment is product agnostic. We do not hold a brand agenda, and the findings are not a route to a quotation for equipment. If the honest answer is that your room is performing close to its ceiling, that is what the report will say.
It is deliberately practical. Every observation is tied to a recommendation, and every recommendation is ranked, so you know what to address first, what can wait, and what is not worth spending money on at all.

Existing cinemas
The room is finished and the equipment is good, but the experience is not what you expected. We identify what is limiting it and what can realistically be recovered.

Drawings exist, a budget is forming, and nothing has been committed. This is the cheapest possible moment to correct geometry, acoustics and specification.

What We Review
Six areas, assessed as one system
A cinema performs as a single system. We assess these areas together, because a decision in one of them almost always constrains the others.
Room design
Geometry and layout
Dimensions, proportions, seating positions, rake and sightlines, and how the room's shape sets the ceiling on everything that follows.
Acoustics
Behaviour and noise floor
Reverberation, bass modes, first reflection points, treatment strategy, and the background noise that quietly caps the room's dynamic range.
Video
Screen and projection
Screen size against viewing distance, field of view, throw geometry, brightness, contrast and the effect of the room's surfaces on the image.
Speaker placement
Listening geometry
Channel angles against reference targets, height layer positioning, subwoofer placement and how consistent the experience is from seat to seat.
Calibration
Measurement and setup
Levels, distances, crossovers, bass management, room correction and picture setup, and whether the system is delivering what its parts are capable of.
Specification
Equipment against design
Whether the specified equipment serves the room, where budget is misallocated, and what would deliver the largest improvement per pound spent.

HCBB is the more accessible, remote and productised route into the Cinema Lusso practice. The judgement is the same, the delivery is lighter: fixed scopes, fixed prices and a written outcome, rather than a full bespoke acoustic design commission.
